Get a 2 Qt (half gallon) wide mouth mason jar with a screened cap or make your own with cheese cloth and a rubber band.
Start at dinner time and put 3 level Tablespoons of seeds and fill the jar up with water to soak overnight.
The next morning will start your first day. Put your screened cap on the jar!
Drain the seeds (use the run off water for your house plants) and rinse them by refilling the jar and dumping it out again. Place the jar in a dish drainer at a forty five degree angle or in a heavy bowl. See photos attached. At dinner time rinse the sprout seeds again by filling up the jar with water and turning it upside down to drain it. Remember to place it at a forty five degree angle to stay in a draining position.
This was your first day of growing and continue this for four days...rinsing at breakfast and at dinner.
When you start to see some little green leaves...place the jar and the bowl by some light like a window.
So far it's less than 5 minutes a day....easy!
At dinner time on the four day put the sprouts in a big bowl to get rid of the unsprouted seeds and the hulls. The hulls will float on the top and the unsprouted seeds will sink to the bottom. Skim the hulls off the top of the water with your hands and discard. Drin the water in the bowl by tilting it sideways with a piece a cheese cloth. Lift the sprouts out of the bowl with your hands and put them back in the jar. The unsprouted seeds will be at the bottom of the bowl, discard. Let the sprouts grow on the next day which is the 5th day without rinsing so they won't be too wet when you put them in the frig that night.
Viola!!!!! Lots of sprouts!!!!!
